Kathmandu, Aug 13: Elon Musk recently interviewed former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump on the social media platform X. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including criticism of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
During the interview, Trump criticized Kamala Harris for not giving interviews as frequently as he does, following her nomination as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.
Trump also discussed Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system, expressing his admiration for it and questioning why the United States does not have a similar system. “Why don’t we have Iron Dome? Israel has,” Trump remarked, noting that the system, effective against short-range attacks, was developed by Israeli companies with US support in 2006.
The conversation also touched on international relations, with Trump claiming to have a good rapport with Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He described them as “smart” and suggested that they were unimpressed with the current US leadership, implying that President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris appeared weak in their eyes.
Trump further claimed that he had advised Putin not to attack Ukraine, but his advice was ignored. He asserted that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if Biden were not in office. Musk agreed with Trump’s assessment during the interview.
Trump emphasized his relationship with Putin, stating that they communicated frequently and that Putin respected him. He also reiterated his belief that Ukraine was a significant target for Putin, claiming he had advised the Russian leader against pursuing it.
