Minister for Foreign Affairs, Arzu Rana Deuba, has instructed Nepali embassies in Israel and Lebanon to prioritise the safety of Nepalis amid growing concerns over their well-being in these regions. During virtual meetings with the respective ambassadors on Sunday, Minister Rana gathered updates on the situation and provided directives for urgent action.

The minister emphasized the need for effective communication with Nepalis residing in these countries and urged the embassies to maintain close contact. She directed officials to coordinate with those wishing to return home and prepare for potential rescue and repatriation efforts.

Rana also instructed the embassies to issue official notices, appoint contact persons, and set up help desks for necessary assistance. According to Nepal’s Ambassador to Egypt, Sushil Lamsal, around 1,200 Nepalis in Lebanon are safe, with no immediate concerns reported.

Meanwhile, Charge d’Affaires Kumar Shrestha assured that the situation in Israel remains stable, confirming the safety of approximately 4,500 Nepalis. Additionally, Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Tapas Adhikari, briefed the minister on the situation in Iran.

The government continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of all Nepalis abroad.
