The Nepal Bharat Millat Parishad (Central) today distributed relief materials to families affected by landslides and floods in Tika Bhairav, located in Wards 6 and 10 of Godavari Municipality. The relief distribution was led by the Parishad’s president, Samim Miyan Ansari.

The program supported 100 families with essential food items, corrugated sheets, blankets, and other necessary supplies. Prominent figures like Member of Parliament Uday Shamsher Jabara, Bagmati Province’s Minister for Sports Min Krishna Maharjan, Mayor of Godavari Municipality Gajendra Maharjan, local representatives, and community leaders were present at the event.

Addressing the gathering, Ansari, who also chairs the Muslim Commission, highlighted that helping those in need during disasters is one of the most humane and noble responsibilities. He called on the government to expedite rescue and relief efforts for the flood and landslide victims.

Bagmati Province Sports Minister Min Krishna Maharjan praised Nepal Bharat Millat Parishad for its continuous efforts in humanitarian and social fields, recognizing the positive impact of their aid.

The landslides and floods that occurred on September 27 and 28, 2024, resulted in five deaths in Godavari Municipality, with over 100 families displaced. Nepal Bharat Millat Parishad has a track record of assisting during disasters such as earthquakes, the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, landslides, and fires. The Parishad has also distributed relief during festivals like Ramadan, making a positive impact in the local community.
