Kathmandu — The Government of Nepal has made public the details of people injured during the Janji movement held on Bhadra 23 and 24.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the data was compiled from hospitals across the country where the injured protesters received treatment. Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki said the list was released after collecting verified records from all concerned hospitals.
A total of 2,638 injured individuals were treated in 99 hospitals nationwide during the protests, the ministry said.
“We were collecting details of all injured persons from the hospitals where treatment was provided. Some hospitals submitted the reports late, which caused a delay in publishing the full details. All records have now been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs,” Budhathoki said.
According to the ministry, details of 2,522 injured people were sent on Kartik 31, 77 on Magh 4, and an additional 39 on Falgun 29.
The highest number of injured — 458 people — were treated at the Civil Service Hospital in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
Similarly, 203 were treated at Nepal Police Hospital, 190 at the National Trauma Center, and 108 at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
