Kathmandu. US Senator Lindsay Graham has predicted that US troops will return to Afghanistan in the near future. The decision comes at a time when many countries are commenting on the withdrawal of US troops.
“We have to go because the threat of terror is going to be huge,” he told the HardTalk program. He noted that terrorism is now a major threat to democracies.
He said al-Qaeda had resumed operations in Afghanistan as soon as the Taliban came to power and feared that its activities would lead to unrest.
Graham, a lawmaker close to former US President Donald Trump, said Afghanistan would be a stronghold of radical Islam under the new Taliban regime. Pakistan and China have also been supporting the Taliban. Even young Pakistani fighters fought in Afghanistan with the Taliban.
“It’s useless to talk here about Trump’s mistake or Biden’s,” he said. The important thing here is that the Taliban are still not back, they are like that and they have nothing to do with modern times. ‘
