Janakpurdham. The bus procured by the state government will be operational within the month of March.
The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development has procured five buses for operation across the state. “The procedure for the operation of the bus is in the final stage,” Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Jitendra Sonal told a press conference on Saturday.
Two buses will run from Janakpurdha, the temporary capital of the state, to Rajbiraj and two buses to Birgunj. The ministry plans to run a similar bus in Rajbiraj and Birgunj.
Minister Sonal said that people can travel in this bus at cheaper fares. He said that the bus will be operated in a more systematic manner than other modes of transport.
Construction of 356 kilometers of roads
At the press conference, Minister Sonal informed that the ministry had constructed 356 kilometers of roads across the state in the last fiscal year. He said that 51 kilometers of blacktop, 75 kilometers of slopes, 170 kilometers of gravel and 60 kilometers of new roads have been constructed.
He said that 5,430 hectares of land has been irrigated and 249 deep tubewells have been connected through the ministry.
Stating that 26 dharamsalas, 9 dalit hostels and senior citizen housing buildings have been constructed in eight districts through the ministry in two years, he said that they will be handed over here within the current fiscal year.
Claiming that the public housing program in the state is good in the country, he said that 2,101 houses have been constructed in a year and 4,659 houses will be constructed here within the current fiscal year.
