Siraha: Siraha Police have arrested two women on charges of being involved in human trafficking and smuggling.
Lalita Chaudhary, 28, of Saptari Kanchanrup Municipality-11 and Usha Devi Malah, 35, of Siraha Dhangadhimai Municipality-1 have been arrested from Naraha Municipality-3 Choharwa on the East-West Highway for smuggling two girls aged 16 and 19 to India.
According to the police, they called the girl to work at Lahan Ashram at the rate of Rs 50,000 per month. According to DSP Rajendra Shrestha, Chief of the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya, the police took them under control.
It is learned that the district court has extended the term of both the arrested persons for human trafficking and smuggling. Police said that they were also searching for other accused involved in the case.
