Simkot. A study team formed to study the border at the northern border of Humla, which has been in dispute between Nepal and China, has reached Simkot in the district on Saturday. The team will study 13 of the 15 border posts in Humla connected to China. Chief District Officer Ganesh Archay informed that all the 15 pillars will be studied if the weather is favorable but only 13 pillars will be studied if the weather is not favorable.

A seven-member team led by Home Ministry Joint Secretary Jayanarayan Acharya reached Humla on Saturday. Chief District Officer Archay informed that the team consists of seven persons including Joint Secretary Acharya, Deputy Director General of Survey Department Sushil Dangol and two experts appointed by the same department and officers of Nepal Police. Chief District Officer Acharya said that the study team would conclude that China had crossed the border only after studying the Humla border with China.
Last year, a government team reached Humla for the first time after the news that a building constructed by China in Lolungjong of Namkha Village Municipality-6 was on Nepali land became public. Last year, there was a controversy that the Chinese side had crossed the border and built some structures in the Nepali area in Humla.
