An environmental impact assessment study has been started regarding the construction of Dodhara-Chandni dry port and integrated check post to be spread in the areas of 1 and 3. On the occasion, Secretary Bhattarai also directed the Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Committee to complete all the necessary works including environmental impact assessment study before construction. The dry port is being constructed at a distance of about 1,200 meters from the four-lane concrete bridge under construction on the Mahakali River.
As the feasibility study of the dry port has been completed and the master plan has been prepared, the work of environmental impact assessment study has been started by the Nepal Inter-Modal Transport Development Committee under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply, said Ashish Gajurel, executive director of the committee.
The work has moved forward with the selection of a consultant for the task.
