. The United States, the United Kingdom and Australia have signed special security agreements aimed at challenging China’s state-of-the-art defense technology.

The agreement between the three nations, which are skeptical of China’s growing military capabilities and its influence in the Indo-Pacific region, has been dubbed “Oaks”.

Under the agreement, Australia will build its first nuclear-powered submarine. With the latest agreement, Australia has canceled the 2016 agreement to buy the French submarine.

According to the BBC, the Oaks agreement covers the areas of artificial intelligence, quantum intelligence and cyber. According to the BBC, the three countries’ cyber capabilities, artificial intelligence and submarine capabilities have tripled since the agreement.

China has opposed the Oaks agreement between the United States, Britain and Australia. The Chinese embassy in Washington has accused the United States, Britain and Australia of having a Cold War mentality.
