Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Karnali Pradesh Parliamentary Party Leader Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has said that China has crossed Nepal’s border. After the issue of crossing the border was raised, the locals in the area have said that China is now hurting Nepalis under various pretexts. Shahi, a state MP elected from Humla, had made an on-site observation in the northern part of Humla and found out that China had crossed the border. The communists have started shifting the blame on Sasad Majhi, who is now standing alone. On the other hand, Congress leader Ram Saran Mahat on behalf of Congress MP Shahi said that there is a border dispute with India, but at that time the communists were showing fake nationality. Outgoing Prime Minister KP Oli has also commented on the subject of the inquiry committee.
But so far China has said that there is no dispute between Nepal and China over the border with Nepal. Even when MP Shahi brought out the fact of border crossing through on-site monitoring, such response given by China has made Nepalis angry. Now there is talk on social media that China has crossed the border.
A spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu said in a statement on Friday that the border had not been crossed as stated by the Nepali government. “The border dispute has been resolved since the friendly agreement reached between the two countries in the early 1960s,” the statement said. “Since then, there has been no border dispute between Nepal and China.”
The statement said that China wants to further strengthen the partnership between the two countries, including border issues, based on the five principles of peaceful coexistence.
Stating that some people have tried to cause alleged border dispute between Nepal and China before, China has also drawn attention to understand the clarification issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at that time. At that time, even Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had made it clear that there was no border dispute with China.
Now that China has a border dispute, it will affect development work as well. China has also mentioned that it wants to build a multi-dimensional communication network across the Himalayan border with Nepal for development and assistance between the two countries. The Nepali people are of the view that there is a secret in raising the issue of assistance to Nepal.
China has also made it clear that it is providing humanitarian assistance to Nepal from Sijang in Tibet, which borders Humla, in disasters such as earthquakes, floods and epidemics. Stating that China and Nepal have been actively exchanging border management, port construction and cross-border assistance for the past few years, China has made it clear that the citizens of the two countries are benefiting from it. This means that the Chinese embassy is trying to cover up the occupation of Nepali land by linking the basis of development with the issue of border crossing.
