Kathmandu — A nationwide voter education program aimed at raising awareness about the importance of voting and the electoral process has been successfully completed in all 6,743 wards across the country.
The Election Commission Nepal stated that the program, which began on Falgun 3, 2083 BS, has now reached all 753 local levels, with volunteers deployed in each ward to conduct voter education activities, according to Assistant Spokesperson Sita Pun Shris.
Volunteers visited households and communities, demonstrating sample ballots and explaining the significance of elections and the voting process.
For the effective implementation of the program, the commission had previously appointed contact persons at the local level as monitors and conducted orientation sessions for them.
Assistant Spokesperson Shris further added that volunteers are now submitting reports on the completion of voter education activities to the Election Commission.
