Kathmandu: Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Balendra Shah, has submitted his election expenditure details to the Election Commission Nepal, reporting a total spending of Rs 1.417 million during the recent parliamentary election.

Shah, who contested from Jhapa Constituency No. 5, stated in the submitted report that Rs 293,800 was spent on renting two vehicles for 15 days, including fuel costs. He also reported spending Rs 35,000 on five air travels and Rs 28,970 on refreshments for voter training programs.

According to the expense breakdown, Rs 580,000 was used for ward-level campaign programs, while Rs 49,850 was spent on printing sample ballot papers. The report also shows Rs 120,000 spent on water supply for two months at the election office and Rs 22,820 on stationery.

Similarly, Rs 157,041 was spent on printing campaign materials including flags and badges, Rs 119,808 on banners and stickers, and Rs 10,000 on nomination registration fees, the report states.

The Election Commission requires all candidates to submit detailed expense reports after the completion of elections as part of transparency and accountability provisions.
