Mayor Paswan reached the hospital at 10 am on Wednesday and met the victim. The driver was also present along with Paswan who reached the Area Police Office Mirchaiya to meet the victim. The family said they were preparing to take the patient out for further treatment after the mayor took charge of the treatment. “We could not get out immediately due to financial problems as the occupants of the vehicle did not come in contact after the accident,” said Jitendra Mandal, the victim’s father. “After they take charge of the expenses, now we will go to Biratnagar.” Mayor Paswan claimed that he was not in the car at the time of the accident. He said that the driver and another person were in the vehicle. However, there is a provision that a government vehicle with a red number plate cannot be used by anyone holding a public office. It has been found that the number plate of the vehicle was also removed due to fear of notoriety after Mayor Paswan came to the police office.
