He further informed that 232 workers from Kathmandu and 15 from Lalitpur were rescued. Especially, the settlements near the rivers have been affected from inundation.

Police said that no human casualty has occurred so far in the incidents.

The incessant rain has waterlogged Gokarneswor Mahadev Temple and Uttarganga area located on the banks of Bagmati River.

Gokarneswor Municipality, Ward-4 chairperson Shree Kumar Shrestha shared that those coming to offer tribute to their departed ancestors on the occasion of Bhadrakrishna Aunsi have been affected due to inundation.

The area has been waterlogged after the flooded water cross through the stairs constructed by the High-Powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee from Gokarneswor Mahadev Temple to Uttarbahini.

Monsoon-induced flood has also damaged the road section and affected different parts to be repaired as part of the Jorpati-Sundarijal road widening project.

Different parts of Bagmati corridor below Gokarna have also been submerged.

Likewise, swollen Rudramati has inundated some houses in Ratopul Maitidevi area.

According to Senior meteorologist at Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meen Kumar Aryal, the rainfall occurred due to the combined impact of the low pressure monsoon system in the Bay of Bengal and the local winds. “The influence of this system will remain until Tuesday evening and the weather will improve from Wednesday,” he said.
