Kathmandu. Phanindra Nepal, a campaigner for Greater Nepal, has been using a dozer in the house he has been occupying for the past five years in defiance of a court order.
Police have also used a dozer in the school run by Phanindra Nepal and his wife Rohika Nepal, who called the housewife Naresh Neupane an engineer of Greater Nepal without paying rent.
The Nepal Police has been compelled to take legal action against the Nepalese couple who had been threatening Naresh Neupane in violation of the order of the Kathmandu District Court and the Kathmandu Municipal Corporation.
The Nepali couple had been running Eden Public School by occupying Neupane’s house in Chawhil. The District Court, Judicial Committee of Kathmandu Metropolitan City had repeatedly ordered to vacate the house. However, the Nepali couple had been occupying the house threatening the housewife Neupane. After that, the corporation had decided to vacate the house on Sunday. Writing a letter to Rohika Nepal on August 26, the corporation had said, Otherwise, the details will be implemented as per the decision of the office on 2078-07-18.
After the Nepali couple did not vacate the house even after cutting the letter, the Metropolitan Police with the help of Nepal Police evacuated the house using a dozer on Sunday. Even though the Nepali couple has been renting since July 20, 2072, they have not even paid the rent for the past two years. The issue eventually reached the court through the local government after Neupane failed to pay the rent.
On 13th December, 2075, Kathmandu Municipal Corporation ward no. An agreement was reached between Rohika Nepal and Naresh Neupane to vacate the house by mid-April 2075 BS and to pay the house rent amount of Rs.
However, they did not vacate the house till mid-April. The Nepalese couple, who had been occupying Neupane’s house, had filed a case in the court. In the case that reached the court through the ward office, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, the Kathmandu District Court had ordered to vacate the house on January 6, 2008 after paying the remaining arrears.
Earlier, the Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation had written a letter to Rohika Nepal 9 Principal-Eden Public School on December 8, 2008 to vacate the house with the help of the police. However, the house was evacuated on Sunday with the help of the administration after they did not vacate the house despite repeated warnings.
