Siraha — Deputy Mayor of Lahan Municipality, Ram Chalittar Mahato, has leveled serious allegations against Mayor Mahesh Chaudhary, claiming that he is disregarding the law and that the electoral code of conduct exists only on paper.
Deputy Mayor Mahato stated that political parties and candidates openly violate the code, observing rules only during elections and forgetting them once in office. “If one cannot even follow rules they themselves have signed, how can they be responsible when tasked with making laws in the future?” he questioned.
He warned that weakening the code of conduct threatens the very foundation of democracy. Emphasizing that democracy is built on respect for laws and regulations, Mahato urged all parties and individuals to honor legal frameworks and uphold accountability.
