Kathmandu. A government team has reached Humla to search for Nepali land seized by China. The investigation committee has reached Humla to study the border dispute in the border area.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s government had formed an investigation committee headed by Home Ministry Joint Secretary Jayanarayan Acharya to resolve the border dispute with its northern neighbor China. The committee reached Humla on Saturday and held discussions with the representatives of political parties and office heads in Simikot.
Humla Chief District Officer Ganesh Acharya informed that the investigation team reached the border after the discussion. The observation will start from the Limi-Lapcha area of the disputed Namkha village municipality of Humla.
The study team is scheduled to inspect all 15 border posts, including Limi Lapcha. The dispute arose after China built a building on Nepali territory in the Limi Lapcha area.
However, after the then government declared the land as Chinese, Congress leader Jeevan Bahadur Shahi himself went to the site and brought out the fact that not only Limi Lapcha but also China had encroached on the border in eight places.
To solve this problem, the Deuba government has formed an investigation committee to get the land back from China. The committee will study and bring out the reality now.
